A new comedy club is coming to Ordsall Hall for three dates and the first one just happens to be during February half term. Comedy Club is on Sunday, February 17 at 1. It includes sketches, jokes, sing-alongs, quizzes, prizes, noises, and hopefully gales of sweeping laughter. Blackpool Pleasure Beach is always a favourite for the kids and is kicking off the new season with half price wristbands. As well as all the bigger rides, like the new ICON which launched last year, the wristbands give access to Nickelodeon Land where little ones can have a go on the tamer rides and meet and greet characters including SpongeBob and Dora the Explorer.
The event runs daily from 11am to 4pm between February 18 and 22 and on the Monday February 18 Philip Ardagh will be there to launch the new trail and have a go himself. Normal admission charges apply. Billed as 'Europe's biggest mobile fun park', the Blackpool Comes to Oldham fair will be in the town for three weeks, including over the February half term. Thrill seekers can also enjoy the Air Maxx - a monster of a ride which features eight somersaulting seats spinning 48 metres high through a full degree loop. Entrance to the park is by wristband only, with two sessions taking place each day - from 1pm to 5pm and 5pm to 8.
The event is running from Friday, February 15 until Sunday, March 3 with two sessions on weekends and during the school holidays. On Thursdays, February 21 and 28, visitors can get one free child wristband with every full paying adult. The huge Escape Reality has six themed rooms of puzzles and riddles to work your way through.
